World’s leading golf networking group swings into the George Washington Hotel to boost Wearside business

AN innovative networking group that connects businesses with each other while they’re out on the golf course has arrived on Wearside.

FORE Business – the world’s largest golf-networking organisation – with more than 100 groups around the UK, as well as in America, Spain and Ireland, has launched at the George Washington Hotel and Golf Club.

And having successfully launched, the group will meet monthly to bring businesses together and owners who have a shared love of the global game.

Andrew Biggs, FORE Business ambassador at the George Washington, said: “This is something that Tyneside and Teesside have had for some time and I’m thrilled to be involved in bringing it to the Sunderland area.”

The group, which has generated more than £40m worth of business since its launch six years ago. works on the simple premise that many business owners love a round of golf, so what better way to network than to combine business with pleasure?

FORE Business co-founder Arron Busst said: “We launched the company when we realised as keen golfers and networkers ourselves that there could be a way to combine the two.

“Business owners get to enjoy a round of golf with fellow business owners and as they get to know each other over a round of golf they can build up the trust and understanding needed to see fresh business opportunities.

“It has been a winning formula for us, helping owners generate millions of pounds in business and we are delighted to bring it to the Wearside now.”

Bill Michie, golf manager at the George Washington said: “It’s great that the George Washington has been selected by FORE Business for this region.

“It’s a real feather in our cap and we’re looking forward to supporting and helping business owners across the North East over the coming months and years who can work on their company contacts and their game at the same time!”

The next FORE Business day at the George is being held this Wednesday, June 19.
