Golf Course
Take a tour of the Mercure George Washington Hotel Golf and Spa and you can expect a championship 18-hole golf course with plenty of tree-lined, wide fairways and natural hazards. The course challenges both occasional and seasoned players with a number of par 5 holes penalising the wayward golfer.
A 7-hole par 3 academy course and 20-bay floodlit driving range are available on site, perfect for practise or beginners.
The course, within easy access of the A1 and A19 motorways is located just 5 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne and 6 miles from Sunderland.
Clubhouse
The newly built golf clubhouse offers lounge bar, golf shop, locker and changing facilities plus a spacious function room ideal for private dining and a balcony overlooking the first and tenth tees. A delicious range of freshly prepared snacks and bistro dishes are available in the clubhouse from 7am - 10pm and free wireless is available throughout.

Dress Code
Whilst there is no specfic dress code for the clubhouse, driving range and 7-hole academy course, we do ask our customers to abide by our course dress code when playing the main 18-hole course. Customers who fail to meet the dress code requirements will be refused. Click here to download a copy of the current dress rules.
Course Rules
- As courtesy to other golfers we ask you arrive at the tee 10 minutes prior to your booked tee off time
- Repair ball pitch markers with repairer
- Please listen to and act on the advice of any course marshalls who may be present
- Please do not leave your buggy or bags in front of the green, always keep to the side facing the direction of play
- Keep buggies to paths and rough
- Keep trollies and buggies off greens and tees
- At most times, there will be golfers ahead and behind of you, please extend courtesy to faster players
- Replace divots on fairway

Handicap Certificate
No handicap certificate is required to play our golf course. We do however ask that all customers take note of the dress code and course rules.
